Off Season - Don't look at me...

We dream about the "off season" all through the "on season". Watching terrible TV while laying on the couch and eating food you dream about when you go to sleep with your stomach aching. Then your in the off season you've done all you've dreamed of then you step on the scale...

Doom. "I used to be..." "What the hell just happen..." "Fuck" goes through your mind along with a fast forward of the "off season". A quick realization of of how quickly everything can change goes through your mind like a move in fast forward.  Judgement instantly is set and a proclamation is then proclaimed. "I will never..."

You know the drill. I joke with my mother about this several times. Eat terribly. Feel bad. Proclaim your never going to eat again (until the next meal).

Just the other day I was talking to a good friend who I told I have a weakness for sweets (like it's a secret everyone knows about). He told me to look at people in general and how you are stronger then them - true, but my weakness is sugar. After the call I started to think my weakness isn't sugar it's my willpower to say no. I've done it before and I can do it again. We all have and we all can.

Funny part of that conversation is 3 days later we speak again and he was so upset with what he saw on the scale that morning he said he didn't want to talk about it. Is it the poor habits of holiday eating or is the lack of sun/gloom that we have in the upper midwest that easily packs on the pounds?

Living her most of my life it's a little bit of both - will and seasonal.
